Our Story

In the fall of 1996, Robin and Jerry Kempfer opened Northern Light Portrait Studios in Madison, WI. Ever since the day their doors opened, they have been making cookies for their photography clients to enjoy while sitting through bridal consultations and portrait sessions. Over the years, several inquiries were made regarding the recipe that was used and several request to purchase cookies had also been made.

It was in the summer of 2008 that the idea of taking the cookies public started to become a reality…the economy was changing and people were looking for an affordable treat. A local Bakery was looking for a good cookie for their business and offered space in their kitchen to Robin and Jerry if they wanted to sell their cookies. A business plan, licensing and a name made it official and the rest is history.
